My 1 Year Old Lessons!

Yes!  I am one year old now and boy, has the year flown by!  I really learned a lot about myself, my owner and life as a dog!  Thought I would jot down a few of my life's lessons so that other young pups like me might know what to expect.  I am having so much fun and I really have it all!  Looks, charm, personality and best of all when I sorta behave, TREATS!  So, I thought I'd compile a list of what I've learned the past year on planet earth - what's working and what's not so much.  And any pups out there want to hear more detail, drop me a line, if you can get a hold of your peeps computer (ahh, such as I have - one of the best lessons learned!)

So, here goes:

  1. My name:  For some reason, my human seems to want to call me "No".  My name is Libby, that's L I B B Y!  Such a beautiful name too.  So, STOP calling me that nasty 2 letter name, it's not working for me!
  2. Words:  Yes, I have learned lots of them.  Obviously, or I wouldn't be writing this right now.  A few big one's come to mind though.  First, there is "Here".  Now that means nothing to me.  Again, trying to rename me?  And "Come" isn't really one I like either.  However, if you say "Libby come!", I just may get on board.  Anything with my real name sounds so royal and pretty.  And I just may run right up to you too.  Second, the word "Off" means zip, nada, zilch!  And why does my human insist on repeating it so much?  I really would prefer "Down Libby" (Again, there's that beautiful name thing).  And the word "Stop", well, save your breathe!  And try "Leave it" if you want me to drop something.  I may just consider that.
  3. Cars: I hate, Hate, HATE those big chunks of metal moving monsters!  But if you are going to insist on putting me in one, keep those little snacks coming, because sister that is the only way I'll even consider getting into one.
  4. Toilet paper, plastic bowls and bottles, socks, clothes, paperback books, remote controls, hats, scarfs, branches, cat toys...need I say more?  LOVE THEM!
  5. Water: You simply just can't have enough.  Drinking, playing, swimming, it's all glorious!  Except for the hot tub - i did a few dives into that and I'm just not getting the appeal.  Too warm and bubbly.  No thanks.
  6. Cats:  These little creatures are great toys.  Except they do get a bit whiny and will fight back when provoked enough.  However, with my paws and long snout, I usually get the upper hand.  They do have great food though!  They sure are lucky.
  7. And finally, wonderful, fantastic BALLS:  The earth cannot ever have enough of anything round - rubber, plastic, soccer, tennis, you throw, I'll catch it!
Of course, there are so many more things I have learned this past year that it would take days to write about them.  Like I learned there a lot of things in the house that begin with the letter "i".  They are called iphone, ipad, ipod...and such.  I love those things too, mostly because they all fit into my mouth rather easily.  And guess what,  they are so easy to learn to use... that's how I can write all this stuff down!
